To start off with, I am new to 3D printing so I do not have a lot of experience. Had searched for a while before ordering the X-Max. Chose it because of the large build size and enclosed frame & fans in case I do other than PLA materials. I would have given the printer 4.5 stars due to an issue with the left Z axis screw. It had popped out of its upper bearing and the build plate would not move properly. Contacted QiDi customer service and they immediately shipped a new screw drive overnight DHL Express delivery from China. Was disappointed the printer arrived defective, but the excellent customer service everyone talks about is real. The printer now seems to be working perfectly. All prints to date have been excellent. I have the printer temporarily where I work (engineering firm) so I can get input from colleagues more experienced in 3D printing. They have been impressed with the machine and the slicer program. The parts stick to the magnetic build plates without any issues. We have an Ultimaker II Plus for the firm and parts often warp off the plate. Printed two 3.5" x 7" x 1" pieces - one on each machine. The QiDi was perfectly flat, the other one warped. Having the two magnetic build plates is quite a benefit. When one print is done, I simply remove the plate, stick the other one in, and start a new job. Being able to flex the plate makes it simple to remove the parts. Overall I'm quite pleased with the printer and glad I chose the X-Max.

Having been 3D Printing for a little over a year now and wanting the ability to print larger projects and use Nylon, ABS, PETG I looked for a printer that would fit these criteria and not break the bank (The X-Max is not cheap). Well, the X-Max is doing for me. The prints are phenomenal with a little tweaking (The Gang at Tech support is even better, they always help me with my settings on projects that need a bit of tweaking). I am printing mostly in Nylon right now and some PETG. The X-Max comes with (2) Extruders, a regular one, and a high temp for Nylon and Carbon Fiber (My Next Project)The prints are great compared to the XYZ Printing Da Vinci Pro 1.0 I was using. The Slicer software, for me, is OK, I am learning a lot about the different setting (and ask tech support a lot of questions) I would recommend this printer without a doubt!! Pictures are ABS, PETG, and Nylon I hope this Helps!

Shortly after receiving the machine, I had a problem with a clogged nozzle that prevented me from printing. I contacted Qidi Tech Support and overnight, I received a video showing me how to correct the problem. It took perhaps 10 minutes and I was back to printing. The Qidi Tech Support is fantastic!!! My only real issue with this printer is that I could not get the WiFi to work. Even after contacting their tech support . . . the issue was not resolved. But, it has not been a problem for me. I now routinely copy my STL files to a USB stick and then insert the USB stick into the Qidi. I can then run my long prints overnight with the computer turned off. I did decide to purchase a battery backup UPS system to power the printer. I live in a remote mountain town where we sometimes have power issues. The UPS system provided clean power to the printer and I have not had any problems with a failed print due to power fluctuations. Overall, this machine is well engineered and solidly built. I am very happy with my purchase. Congratulations Qidi on a well engineered, well built product.

I have owned this printer now for a few weeks. I had purchased another printer in kit form, assembled it, tested perfectly, and then it just couldn't produce a good print. I received a refund for that printer and searched for one that would handle the printing I wanted. I came across the Qidi Max and thought it would do what I wanted. This printer is very large and can produce very large prints. For me, equal in importance to the quality of the printer is the support offered. With the other printer, I could get support day and night but had to spend endless hours in a chat room while they handled multiple chats at once. It would take sometimes 2 or more hours to solve a simple problem. Qidi's support is not instantaneous. They are in China. But, they really seem to understand the issue and provide excellent responses. When I can catch them online I get responses within a few minutes. Sometimes, due to the time zone difference, I have to wait. But almost always the response is spot on. They often provide videos that show what to do. They know their products and have a good sense of what is needed when asked. Very different from my last experience. With a little patience the time zone hasn't been an issue. Understanding my needs when I ask for something is important to me, and Qidi has done well. I only offer the contrasting experience to say that I am very pleased with this printer and with Qidi. They claim they are committed to helping their customers have a great experience. I have found this to be true. This is the second Qidi printer I own (the other was my entry-level printer - the X one2. That is also very well made, and my support experience with that printer was the same. I could have bought any printer I like, but I'm very happy with the X-Max. Very well done Qidi!

Enter the Qidi X-Max. First thing is, this machine is big and heavy (which is good to me) but not a issue with the space I have. The Qidi makes the Creality seem like a toy, and yes it costs significantly more but I would do the same thing again in a heartbeat. Super clean prints, incredibly quiet, interior light (which can be turned off), fantastic customer support and lots of flexibility. Another important point would be the print speed. Compared to the Creality which I would do a 6 hour print the Qidi almost shaves off 2 hours which is a huge deal and using the same settings. As others have said, a filament sensor would be nice but having problems with my last printer it makes me wonder.

What an amazing printer! The QIDI X-Max comes pre-assembled and ready to print. The company includes a usb thumb drive with their proprietary slicing software ready to be installed needing no initial download. They also included a free roll of red PLA filament. This allowed for immediate printing as soon as I opened the box. Their packing job is like no other ensuring safe transportation of all components of the system. The springsteel buildplate is so awesome and allows for easy removal of printed parts while keeping great first layer adhesion - requiring no glue stick/hair spray/etc. The big LCD allows for good visualization of all of the settings and functions for the user. The biggest thing to mention is their customer service. They are based out of China so there is a time difference from here in the U.S. when emailing back and forth. However, their staff are SO responsive and send instructions and videos if any problems arise at all times of the day/night. It's CRAZY! I have never received such great customer service in my life or felt so 'heard' by a company regarding a product. I can't stress enough how GREAT & AMAZING their customer service is... top notch! I would recommend this printer and company to everyone!

I purchased a Qidi at 1/2 the price and twice the size and it can run every type of filament. The Afinia can only run Afinia filament. I really love the Qidi. I made lincoln/legos with the wood filament, a cup with metalic PLA. Even game pieces for a dice game. I probably made more that 70 items in the last 3 weeks. Meanwhile the Afinia is sitting there, and as I keep replacing parts that their service techs tell me to buy. Qidi has Service numbers on the side and the service centers are near by. I asked Afinia to buy back their machine, but since it is over 2 years old, the service tech at Afinia said it was obsolete. My Qidi uses WiFi. The Afinia needs a 15' USB cable. The Qidi has an overhead spool feeder. There isn't any drag on the filament that will stop feeding at the gun. Afinia has the spool on the side and the filament runs though a 2' tube that is a pain to reload or change filament. The only positive that I can say about the Afina is that it shuts off when the filament runs out. But that is rare since it rarely runs. Currently, there is something wrong with the gun. The nozzles were replaced, the gasket block was replaced, and now they want me to change the whole gun. Very expensive upkeep. It is like comparing a Mercedes (X-Max) with a flaming bag of poop (Afinia).

The Qidi X-Max 3D printer was extremely easy to set up. From the box to having the machine leveled and running took less than a half hour. The slicer software that is included with this printer has all of the features to be expected for a novice or for more advanced printing. It also has 3 default settings from a fine (0.8mm layer height) to an extra fine (0.02 layer height) which are nice because it takes the guess work out of setting up print jobs, but I am also able to easily customize many variables and then save them as my own printer preferences. I'm still working on fine tuning the settings for my printing preferences but the prints that I am getting are much, much better than our current (brand name) 3D printer which is only a few years old. Others in the office have immediately noticed this as well. I have also run this printer on several overnight 10 to 15 hour multi-part print jobs on very tall, thin, tricky parts without any issues. The printer is very quiet to the point that some in my office did not even know the printer was running and I can now even have conference calls in my office without worrying about printer noise. I have reached out to the manufacturer several times now for support and have always received overnight replies with the detail that was needed. I have not yet tried all of the other materials that this printer claims to be able to print but I have had dialog with the manufacturer about which nozzles to use so I don't think I will have any issues when I do actually start printing in other materials. One thing I am going to suggest to the manufacturer is to include the option to keep the circulation fans OFF during the entire printing cycle in their next software update.

After a few trials and a little learning it's working great now. I'm real happy with this unit. I like that it's enclosed too, it's easy to keep the inside clean. Once I got used to it, it's been running smoothly for a couple weeks now. I start the day by sending a file to it via LAN, and away it goes. I only have to level the bed if I change extruders and even then the change is almost exactly the same each time. The extra high-temp extruder was a big deal for me because I wanted to be able to use polycarb and nylon and other high strength resins. Swapping the extruders is easy, takes just a few minutes. The high temp extruder comes with a hardened nozzle too, but it does not have a part cooling fan. I inquired about swapping it to the high temp extruder and they said it wasn't necessary. After some testing with PC and especially ABS, I went ahead and swapped the fan too. I was pleased with the results. Their slicing/printing software works well, seems to have all the basic functionality. I'm also using Fusion 260 and they integrate well together. All in all I'd recommend this machine. I'm putting a good 12 hours a day on it now, power consumption seems minimal.

This is my first 3d printer, I purchased it in Jan. 2019. Have made some really nice prints. My teenager's are enjoying using the printer. Like everyone new to 3d printing there is a learning curve, I have had many questions for Qidi tech support they have responded back to me with in 24 hours every time. A few are nasty nozzle clog, need print settings for PETG in S3D, my daughter used a glass scraper on my print bed and cut into my bed causing a tear. They e-mailed me solid tech support to help with my issues, in the case of the print bed they weren't being sold on Amazon at the time, they sent me a new print bed. As a newbie to 3d printing my issues probably wouldn't have happened to an experienced user. The tech support is amazing. I hope not to use tech support some day, but for now its a great resource. The printer was easy to setup and to get started printing. Its very quiet, build quality is good, prints beautiful.

I'd like to start this off by acknowledging that I have no past experience with 3D printing and I have a fairly avg learning curve. I chose the X-MAX b/c of rave reviews, the large array of compatible filament types (and high temp extruder), reasonable cost and the other rave reviews about QIDI Customer Service. I received my X-MAX about 2 days ago with the hot extruder included. I ran into a couple of issues (example: I left the yellow plate clips on the gantry causing a jam) and contacted customer service at 1:30am. By 2:30am I had already received an email and instructional video to rectify the situation (Their time zone is almost opposite which works great for a night owl). As I mentioned, with NO prior experience, I have been able to do fairly complex prints with auto-supports (within qidi slicer) and the results have been stellar! That said, I also watched hrs of YouTube videos about tweaking settings on other programs and QIDI slicer has less advanced settings but it works great for most print files you may find (all files so far). With the stock pla loaded, I increased bed temp by 10 degrees (always Celsius), increased the extruder temp to 200 degrees, reduced print speed by 10mm/s (50mm/s), and reduced travel speed by 10mm/s (90mm/s). Very fine lines and details after only a few failed attempts. Note: this is why I increased the bed temp and extruder temp, the lower print speeds were only to keep my table from rocking so much. I have to say that I am very impressed with this printer and QIDI customer service. They clearly want to make a great name in the 3D industry which is evident by their very consistently positive reviews. I recommend the X-MAX printer highly!

I had a ender 3 pro for about 3 months and decided to go with this beast for better performance and bigger plate. its proven it self on everything I've thrown at it. Leveling is amazing. Only have done it once and its been perfect since. The spool of filament that comes with it is one of the best quality filaments out there, I wish I could buy more but not yet. I had couple "user" issues and Linda, their customer service representative was so amazing in helping in quick responses and she even went out of her way to print samples on her end to give me the best print settings. just purely amazing!! The printer is super quiet compared to my ender 3 pro and its super reliable in leaving alone at home although you shouldn't haha. The circulation is super cool and keeps the prints coming out crisp. Last thing, for a printer this big, the electricity usage is super low! cost for a 10 hr print is only 12 cents. I was told to buy simplify 3D for this printer for better prints, that was not the case for me since their own software is much better and smoother. Over all, 5 out of 5 stars on everything!

The X-max is the most recent release from Qidi Tech's X-series of printers. It was packaged VERY well and was printing in less than 30mins.This is a fantastic machine backed by unbelievable customer service that continues to get better! The machine came packaged very well in a thick box with plenty of closed cell foam protecting it. It came with a nice array of tools in a tool box, 2 spring steel flexible build plates and a full spool of red PLA. The included Toshiba USB thumb drive is a nice name brand drive and includes the best set of documentation and software I have ever seen with a 3D printer. It includes Wi-Fi setup instructions, Qidi print slicer software and even a Simplify 3d Profile that they created. If you have a smaller printer and are looking to upgrade to a larger one - look no further. This printer would serve well for a hobbyist or in an industrial business setting. I'll start by saying that my first printer was a Qidi Tech X-Pro. It is a great first printer for the size, functionality, and price well below its counterparts - especially with the upgrades they have put into the x-pro version. It is very evident that their design team has talked to and worked with people in the 3d printing community to improve their machines.

I researched 3D printers for over a year, trying to figure out what I wanted and what I needed. With printers ranging from $100 to many thousands of dollars, how do you know what you are getting? Well, I finally decided to pull the trigger on this beast and boy is it nice. My son and I have printed so many projects where we had a need and designed something to solve a problem. I just can't believe just how many things we have been able to quickly design and print with this printer. It's got a big price sticker, but it also prints big stuff. I also had a couple minor issues getting it set up and running and the Qidi tech support has been fantastic. They respond quickly and have helped me completely solve my problem every single time. It's a great printer that is really fun to use.

I wanted to buy made in the USA so I bought the Makerbot 3d printer. I had it for about 3 days and the print quality was very poor and it was very noisy during operation. I sent it back and could not find another printer in the same price range that was was made in the USA. I ended up trying the QIDI-TECH X-MAX and it is not only cheaper by $400, but it will take a ton of different filaments and has a heated build table. The print quality is much better that the makerbot and the only noise you hear while it is running is the cooling fan on the extruder. This unit had an 89% positive review rate and reading the few negative ones I think some people nit pick or the problem is user error. Anyway I picked up the QIDI-TECH X-MAX for $1099.00 and I am very happy with it and do recommend this 3d printer.

I've printed PLA, ABS, TPU, PETG, RYNO (Matterhackers) and Nylon with this printer and the quality is outstanding. A few prints have been over 24 hours without any problem. The sales information on this printer is not hype, everything they say has held true for me. The machine is solid, the tech support (if needed) is outstanding. I am enjoying 3D printing again after struggling with other printers for years. The X-Max prints great out of the box, but here were 3 "modifications" I did make: I added a piece of Capricorn tubing to feed the filament into the print head, that avoids any uneven pulling on the filament when the head makes long movements, I also added ball bearings to the feed roller so TPU and NinjaFlex would feed more smoothly, and I added Silicone bushings in place of the leveling springs. (find that mod on YouTube). I would highly recommend this printer to anyone who wants a solid, versatile and reliable printer.

I'm a 3D printer hobbyist and own 3 other printers from different manufacturers. I want a printer that can print more exotic materials that require closer to 300C. I did some research and finally decided to buy the QIDI X-MAX. It has the features I need, a high temperature hot end, a direct extruder, a housing and a very attractive machine. Overall, this printer meets my requirements very well, satisfied!
